- Lecturer in Media Studies at Massey University, Aotearoa New Zealand. My research is primarily around digital media ecologies, thinking in terms of both an ecology of flows of information and the flows of energy and matter which comprise the material infrastructure which enables communication over digital networks. Specifically I'm interested in the social and environmental issues which surround the production, circulation and disposal of these technologies. I also have research interests in media and political activism, software studies, mediating climate change, documentary film, peer-to-peer production and the political economies of digital media.
